Professional Background

Dr Surabhi Liyanage is a highly qualified General Adult Psychiatrist with a wealth of experience across both public hospital settings and private practice. She commenced her academic journey at the University of Sydney, earning a Bachelor of Medical Science in 2002 and an MBBS with Honours in 2006. She went on to complete her PhD at UNSW in 2014 and became a Fellow of the RANZCP in 2022.

Clinical Expertise

Before specialising in psychiatry, Dr Liyanage worked in a wide range of medical and surgical disciplines for over a decade, which has given her a well-rounded and patient-centred approach to mental health care. She currently serves as a Staff Specialist Psychiatrist at Westmead Hospital, where she also teaches at the University of Sydney and mentors psychiatric trainees preparing for RANZCP Fellowship.
